Date: Tue Feb 20, 2001 0:28am Response from Barb to Lucille (below): Lucille, I am new to this group so bear with me. I am also weaning off of Paxil and am having some pain, swelling, stiffness in both hands and wrists. Coincidence? I thought it was just me. Let me know how it goes with you. Barb Date: Mon Feb 19, 2001 1:47am Have a question for everyone in the group: It has been about two weeks since I started having tremors in my hands. (over 4 weeks since I stopped taking paxil). The tremors have pretty much stopped but I have a whole bunch of other symptoms in both of my hands. My fingers get extremely cold for no apparent reason and this can last for minutes or hours before they warm (raynaud's disease)? I also am getting transient pain and stiffness in my fingers and hands but no swelling (so rule out arthritis). I also have had wrist pain (suspect carpal tunnel syndrome) in both hands. My fingernails are slightly discolored as well. These symptoms have been going on pretty much most of the time over the past 2 weeks. My question to all of you is: Can these symptoms have anything to do with paxil withdrawal/residual effects?. Or do I have something unrelated now? Has anyone in the group had these symptoms, or heard of them being associated with SSRI's? I am still on Ativan & Zyrtec daily. (Possible drug interaction?) I'm going crazy trying to figure out what is causing these symptoms. My Dr. can't figure it out and I wore a heart monitor for 24 hours--the results of which were normal. I did not get the results of my blood test yet. My panic attacks have gone away and I feel back to normal in every other way (except when I try to wean off the ativan, then I get withdrawal anxiety). Guys, let me know what you think. Lucille
